Questions

Straight answers.

And if yours isn't here, ask the assistant at the bottom of this page — it answers in plain English and says so when it doesn't know.

The basics

What is a Tidara assistant, exactly?

A private AI assistant built from scratch for one person or one business, running on a server that belongs to them. You talk to it by text message — the same app you already use — and it carries the work that isn't really the work: the posts, the follow-ups, the paperwork, the appointments, the things that slip when you're busy.

It isn't a product you sign up for and figure out alone. We build it, and it keeps gaining abilities as you need them.

How is this different from just using ChatGPT?

Three ways that matter.

It remembers. A public chatbot starts from nothing every time. Yours knows every job, customer, quote and decision you've made in front of it, and gets more useful the longer you have it.

It's private. It runs on your own server. What you tell it isn't pooled with anyone else's and never becomes training data for someone else's AI.

It runs on a cadence. You don't have to remember to open it. It turns up in the morning with the day ready, whether you thought about it or not.

Is it for my business, or my personal life?

Either. Or both — that's common. The same assistant can chase your invoices on Tuesday and remember your daughter's permission slip on Wednesday, because it's one assistant that knows you rather than two tools that don't.

There's a page for the business side and one for the personal side if you want to see them separately.

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you can send a text message, you can use it. There's no app to install, no dashboard to learn, and no settings screen you're expected to understand.

You can also just talk to it — send a voice note and it works from that.

Does it work for my line of work?

Probably, because nothing about it is industry-specific out of the box — it's built around how you work. We've built for trades, construction, haulage, property, clinics, agencies and one-person operations.

The honest answer is that some things suit it better than others, and we'll tell you if yours doesn't. Ask the assistant below and it'll give you a straight read.

Privacy and security

Where does my data actually live?

On infrastructure dedicated to you — not a shared tenancy with other customers' data sitting alongside yours. It's backed up nightly, and restores are tested rather than assumed.

There's a fuller explanation here.

Can it read my email and my messages?

Only the accounts you point it at, and only if you want that at all. You choose what it can see, you can change your mind later, and you can start with none of it.

Plenty of people begin with just the calendar and their documents, then add the inbox months later once they've seen how it behaves. That's a sensible way to start and we'll never push you past it.

Is my information used to train AI?

No. Your jobs, your customers, your pricing and your private life are yours. They don't become someone else's training data, and they don't improve a product you don't own.

Can it post, send or reply without me?

No. It drafts; you approve. Posts, quotes, invoice reminders, replies to customers — every one of them waits for a yes from you before it goes anywhere.

Nothing about you reaches the public unless you put it there. That's engineered in, not a policy we promise to follow.

Who else can see it?

Only people you name. Access is by invitation — there's no public link and no login anyone can find. Where a team is involved, what each person can reach is set by you, so the money side doesn't have to be visible to everyone who can ask about a job.

Every action is logged where you can check it.

Can I have my data deleted?

Yes. Ask and it goes. It's your assistant and your information; that isn't something you have to negotiate for.

Getting started

How does it actually begin?

A conversation, not a signup form. We learn how you work — your routines, your documents, the tools you already use, and how you actually talk to people. Then we build it, test it against your real workflows, and hand it over working.

You can start that conversation right now with the assistant at the bottom of this page.

Do I have to move off the tools I already use?

No, and that's the point. Nothing to migrate, nothing to cancel. It plugs into what you've already got — mail, calendar, accounting, CRM, storage, socials — and works from there.

What do you need from me to build it?

Mostly your time and your honesty about how things really run — including the messy parts. Access to the tools you want it to work with, some examples of how you write, and whatever documents it should know about.

You give access at your own pace, and you can withdraw any of it.

Living with it

What if it gets something wrong?

You'll catch it, because nothing leaves without you reading it first. A mistake shows up as a draft you don't approve, rather than something you discover a week later.

And when it doesn't know something, it says so instead of guessing. That behaviour is deliberate — an assistant that bluffs is worse than no assistant.

What if I want it to do something new later?

That's normal and expected. New abilities get added as you need them — most customers think of the best ones only after living with it for a month.

Can my whole team use it?

Yes. That's one of the two shapes it takes — an assistant in the team's group chat that field staff, office staff and new hires can all message, alongside the personal one that works your own day.

What happens if I stop?

You keep what's yours. Your data can be exported or deleted, whichever you prefer, and any access it had to your accounts gets disconnected.

Money

What does it cost?

There isn't a price list, because there isn't a standard product — every assistant is built for one person or one business and what it actually needs to do.

Tell us what you'd hand over and you'll get a straight number. Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

What am I committing to?

Nothing until you've seen exactly what you're getting and what it costs. The scope, the price and the terms are agreed together before any build starts — there's no version of this where you find out afterwards.

Anything else

Not answered here? Ask us.

Put it in the chat — there's a box for exactly that. Joe reads them himself and answers properly, including the awkward ones, and including when the honest answer is that this isn't for you.

Could this help me?

"The tide comes in every morning."
